Hello!

Episode 57: 80s Video Extra

Hello!

I had rather given up on the idea of podcasting again this summer, but then the spirit took me, and I had to get the camera out. I don’t have much knitting to show for my summer, but there are a few other things I had on my mind…

You can find all the notes in the EastLondonKnit Ravely group.

Til Autumn, happy knitting!

The EastLondonKnit podcast episode 56

Episode 56: Summer Brain

Hello!

In truth, this is a very mini-episode of the podcast. The sun came out for 10 minutes last week and my brain left on vacation without me. I hope you are enjoying some quality summertime knitting.

Show notes can be found in the EastLondonKnit Ravelry group.

Happy knitting, Rx

Hello!

I was beset by technical gremlins today, but have finally managed to upload the podcast!

I chat about my new design Miara Sweater and the Woollinn Festival of Yarn, as well as demonstrate removing the neck from a top-down sweater.

Show notes can be found in the EastLondonKnit Ravelry group.

Happy knitting,

Episode 54: Chatter

Hello!

Hello! The latest episode of the podcast is particularly short and sweet! I chat about my knitting and have a tutorial for picking up dropped stitches in brioche rib. You can find the show notes in the EastLondonKnit Ravelry group.

EastLondonKnit podcast episode 53: Tutorials

Episode 53: Bring on the tutorials!

Hello!

In the latest podcast, I show you not one, but 2 tutorials (cabling without a cable needle and reinforcing the back neck of my cardigan with a crocheted chain), talk about upcoming plans and show off a few outfits.

You can find the show notes in the EastLondonKnit Ravelry group.

Happy knitting,

Midding cardigan knitting pattern

Midding!

Hello! I have a new pattern out! Midding is a new cardigan pattern for your needles!

Midding knitting pattern

MIDDING v. intr. feeling the tranquil pleasure of being near a gathering but not quite in it — hovering on the perimeter of a camp fire, chatting outside a party while others dance inside, resting your head in the backseat of a car listening to your friends chatting up front — feeling blissfully invisible yet still fully included, safe in the knowledge that everyone is together and everyone is okay, with all the thrill of being there without the burden of having to be.

Some projects suggest a kind of sweet nostalgia. Midding is a project like that. A classic cardigan shape, with long, fitted sleeves, a straight body, and panels of open cables. This cardigan is worked from the bottom up, with raglan shaping in the yoke, and i-cord finishing at the neck and button bands.

YARN

I used Kettle Yarn Co. Baskerville DK (Exmoor Blueface wool, Gotland wool, silk; 233 m/255 yds per 100g skein) in Dawn colourway; 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins.
If substituting yarn, you will need around 450 (505, 555, 605, 700, 750) g/1050 (1175, 1295, 1410, 1630, 1750) metres/1150 (1285, 1415, 1540, 1785, 1915) yards of DK-weight yarn.

EastLondonKnit podcast Episode 51: Nancy Marchant

Episode 51: Nancy Marchant Queen of Brioche

Hello!

I have a special episode of the podcast today with a knitting hero of mine: Nancy Marchant! I caught up with Nancy at Edinburgh Yarn Fest, and found a (relatively) quiet corner to record a little podcast with her about how she got into knitting, and the wonderful world of brioche stitch.

The full show notes can be found in the EastLondonKnit Ravelry group.

Happy knitting,
Rx

Episode 48: India & Into the Deep

Hello!

I’m back! And I even managed a podcast this week, although I am very much the travel bore in this one, chatting about my trip to India for at least the first 8-10 minutes. You have been warned…

In other news, I have a new pattern out! Into the Deep! I will be hosting a giveaway over on my Instagram account, so do have a look if you would like to win a sweater quantity of beautiful Miss Babs yarn!
