New Pattern: Malahide!

Hello!

Today I have a new pattern out! Meet Malahide!

Malahide knitting pattern

Named for a seaside neighbourhood near Dublin, Malahide is a round yoked sweater, worked seamlessly from the top-down with pretty stranded colour work in the yoke and around the edges. Made with cropped sleeves and body, the sweater could easily be made longer.

As ever, subscribers to the EastLondonKnit newsletter get an exclusive discount, and Patreons* get all my new patterns for free!

* Excluding Stockinette Stitch Tier subscribers.

YARN
I used a lovely lambswool from Townhouse yarns, Olla No.2 (100% Lambswool; 410 m/448 yds per 100g skein) in main colour Port; 2 (3, 3, 3, 3)(3, 4, 4, 4) skeins, and contrast colour Embrace; 1 skein.

If substituting for another fingering/4ply weight yarn, you will need approximately:

Main colour
180 (205, 220, 245, 260)(290, 305, 330, 345) grams
740 (840, 900, 1005, 1065)(1190, 1250, 1355, 1415) metres 810 (920, 985, 1100, 1165)(1300, 1365, 1480, 1545) yards
Contrast colour
30 (35, 40, 40, 45)(50, 55, 55, 60) grams
125 (145, 165, 165, 185)(205, 225, 225, 245) metres 135 (160, 180, 180, 200)(225, 245, 245, 270) yards

SIZES 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9)
This sweater is meant to have a generous fit with a bit of positive ease. I am modelling size 3 and I have a 91 cm/36 inch bust.

I will be chatting about the pattern in the next episode of the EastLondonKnit podcast🙂

New Pattern! Miala

Hello!

I have a new pattern out!

MIALA is an easy-to-knit version of the classic Icelandic-style sweater, but instead of using two colours for stranded knitting, Miala uses slipped stitches, increases and decreases to make a pretty colourwork yoke. Worked in a thick aran yarn, this sweater knits up quickly and is a classic shape; perfect for cosy autumnal walks, or curling up in front of the fire.

Miala knitting pattern

Chest circumference: 83 (91.5, 103, 111.5, 123)(131.5, 143, 151.5, 163) cm/ 32.75 (36, 40.5, 44, 48.5)(51.75, 56.25, 59.75, 64.25) inches

The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, so is easily made longer or shorter.

Episode 81: Here’s one I made earlier

Hello!

Welcome to the weekend! Here in the UK we have a long weekend and I am planning some sewing, some knitting, some baking and lots of eating and sleeping; so, you know, nothing different here…
This episode I brag about a finished object, show off a leisurely wip, and make excuses for why I haven’t written up all those patterns, but I really am going to do it now I swear.
